Skills

 

Can provide grid teams, team leaders, communications, logistics/support, and experienced search management support. Members are DEC certified for basic wildlands search. Several members are certified as NASAR SARTEC II searchers All ATV/UTV operators have had ATV safety courses. Caving/technical rescue experienced member.

Equipment

 

2001 RV set up as Mobile Command; communications and re-hab; 4KW generator.
Two 4x4 Off Road Vehicles:
          1-Polaris Ranger 800 Crew (6) person UTV with dump bed, soft cab, heat, radio
              and a 4500# winch to transport crews and gear.
          1-Polaris Ranger RZR 800 (2) person ATV (50" wide) with a 3500# winch.
Toyota 4Runner 4x4 with mobile radio
Four Generators (Two 2 KW Honda, two 5 KW Coleman) w/portable lighting
All equipment to conduct grid searches.
PLB locator receiver
Three laptop computers with Terrain Navigator Pro installed, with portable printers, one projector and screen with Hug-A-Tree presentations

Radios

 

Mobile VHF and UHF band radios, 18 VHF/UHF portable radios. UHF, 800 MHz, two meter ham radio, portable repeater.

Medical

 

All search team members are, at a minimum, First-Aid and CPR with AED trained.  One stretcher, two backboards, one folding Junkin litter.  One AED.

Technical

 

High angle rescue equipment, PFD's, throw bags.

Maps

 

Terrain Navigator Pro. New York State in three laptop computers with portable printers. GPS units including (Garmin 60CSX and Astro with two collars)
