Skills 5 operational K-9s: Air Scent, Article, Cadaver and Trailing. 5 DEC Searcher I. 15 members have DEC Basic Wildlands, NIMS (FEMA), Crime Scene Preservation, Radio Procedures and Navigation training.
Equipment Kodiak rescue boat and trailer. All members equipped with GPS, Compass, radio and day pack. Flagging, string and necessary equipment for grid searching.
Radios Call Sign WPIQ932, operating on 155.160MHz and 155.265MHz. All members equipped with narrow band portables programmed with 85 SAR, Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS frequencies.
Medical 4 EMTs, 1 Red Cross Instructor and 15 members with Adult & Pediatric First Aid, CPR, Blood Born Pathogens and AED.
Technical 2 Fire Fighters, 1 Coast Guard Auxiliary, 7 Team Leaders, 7 Man Tracking, 9 Night Navigation and 15 Grid Searchers.
Maps MapTech Terrain Navigator Pro software with New York State topographical maps on Panasonic Tough Book laptop.
