Type III, Type II, and Type I search trained. One NYS certified air scent K9, 4 air scent K9 in training, 1 NYS cadaver certified K9.
Team capable of self-sustained 24 hour search operations in all-weather and low-angle terrain, and supporting low- and high-angle rope rescue and severe winter operations.
1 Max 6-wheel amphibious ATV with winter tracks and VHF radio/litter capable; all supplies necessary to carry out a grid search.
|Radios|| ||Call sign WQOJ843 (7 dedicated VHF frequencies plus VTAC, MURS and Wilderness SAR), 30 VHF portable radios, 1 transportable 25W mobile station with antenna. All radios programmed with DEC Forest Ranger Frequencies.|
|Medical|| ||1 MD, 1 Paramedic, 8 EMT, 15 WFA. All members certified in Basic First Aid and CPR.|
20 members NYS Rescue Technician Basic certified for low-angle technical evacuation, 10 members NYS Rope Operations or higher certified for high-angle evacuation.
